Terenna’s Analysis

Verner has excellent production with 15 and 18 passes broken up during his sophomore and junior years.  He not only can break up passes but intercept the ball and make tackles.  His production implies that he is one of the best in the draft.  I think the reason teams don’t have him as high as other CBs is because of his slightly slower 40 time.  His cone drill is very good though and helps him jump routes.  His vertical is a little short at 32 inches, which is another possible problem, but I don’t see how teams could pass on him in the 3rd or 4th round.  He would be a great addition to the Eagles secondary and we wouldn’t have to spend a high pick to get him.  I still believe that we should be drafting a CB instead of a S.  I want to see what the safeties that we have on our team can do and our CBs are getting a little old.
